The Life of Pablo
Kanye West turned to Belgian artist Peter De Potter for The Life of Pablo, a less famous name than earlier collaborators such as George Condo and Takashi Murakami. De Potter's orange cover repeats the album title over and over in uneven formatting, a restless stack of words that matches an album West kept changing after release.
Two photographs are set into the type: a small family picture and a cropped image of British model Sheniz Halil, reportedly chosen by Kim Kardashian. The cover also carries the phrase "which one," which had appeared on the notepad holding the album's final tracklist. "I couldn't be more flattered and honoured," Halil said.
West revealed two versions of the design on 11 February 2016, days before the album premiered as a streaming exclusive on Tidal on 14 February. Some speculated that the collaboration came through designer Raf Simons, who had worked with De Potter and whom West cited as an influence.
