MigosCollage2017

Migos' second album, the record that made the Atlanta trio of Quavo, Offset and Takeoff the biggest group in rap, wraps their faces in a dense collage on a black background. Gold, flames, money and city landmarks pile up around them, with the title set in gold at the bottom.

The cover was designed by Stole "Moab" Stojmenov, a young graphic designer based in Milan, and it was meant to show what Migos had given to hip-hop and to Atlanta, from music to fashion. Years later Offset explained one of the symbols that runs through the Culture covers. Speaking on Amazon Music's Connected With Wayno in 2021, he said the doves represent the group's grandmothers: "That's grandma on them album covers."

Culture was released on 27 January 2017, debuted at number one and carried "Bad and Boujee" to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. It defined the sound of trap at the height of its takeover, and Takeoff's death in 2022 has given the dove symbol a sadder weight.
