Alfredo
The cover of Alfredo shows a hand working the strings of a marionette, and the puppet is a plate of fettuccine Alfredo. The design is by the art director Vlad Sepetov. The black field and the hovering hand make the reference plain: it borrows the famous puppeteer logo of The Godfather films.
The joke runs on several levels. The title combines the names of the two artists, Alchemist and Freddie, and lands on a classic Italian-American dish. The Godfather nod frames Gibbs as a mob boss, a role his cold, detailed street narratives often play with. A plate of pasta pulled on strings also suggests control and power behind the scenes, with The Alchemist as the hand. The cover turns a pun into a mafia movie poster in a single image.
The packaging went further. The release came with a comic book drawn by the comic artist Mike del Mundo, inspired by the album's songs. Alfredo was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards, rare recognition for an independent release. The duo returned to the same theme for Alfredo 2 in 2025. The original was released on 29 May 2020.
